Spotlight Sessions
The MHPCI hosts a monthly Spotlight Session, both in-person and online, where a Christian mental health professional provides information on a mental health-related matter and discusses how church communities can offer support.
The cost of each Session is $25. If you are experiencing financial hardship, and are keen to attend this seminar, we have a limited number of tickets available at the reduced price of $10. Please email us at mentalhealthinstitute@mac.edu.au and we will be happy to provide you with a code.
Suicide Prevention
Date: Monday 9 September 2024
Time: 7 – 8:30pm
Cost: $25
Location: In person at ADM, online and recording access
Jesus has tasked the church with proclaiming hope to the hopeless – which includes those who are suicidal. We are uniquely placed to prevent suicide, to provide compassionate care for those who are suicidal, and to practically support those who are left behind.
Thousands of Australians are impacted by suicide every year. In 2022 at least 3,249 Australians were lost to suicide, with an estimated 78,000+ people making suicide attempts.
Join us as we explore the warning signs of suicide, developing confidence to speak to a suicidal person, and the best ways to connect them with professional help.
