Approximately 200 people in Australia attempt suicide every day and, on average, 8 of these die from suicide. It can confront people at various ages, and not everyone who dies by suicide is experiencing a mental or behavioural illness. This means we can’t assume that those we know won’t ever have this experience.

The circumstances related to suicide are complex and multifaceted and so we all need to be prepared to have a conversation if we are worried about someone.
